CoOp Presents an all-new double-album compilation entitled ‘Plug One’. It features global talent from the world of broken beat and beyond - some already well-established in the field, some very much on the come-up and some brand new artists, this compilation is an acknowledgment of a continually evolving sound from the label formed by IG Culture and Alex Phountzi a few years ago. ‘From the cosmic psych jazz of LCSM, to the classic UKG tweaks of Groove Chronicles, to a veritable who’s who of 2020 bruk talent. The first track delivering a powerful message from Reginald Omas Mamode IV.

Likwid Continual Space Motion - Earthbound

Produced in cooperation with Saido Lehlouh, Johanna Faye and Summer Dance Forever Amsterdam, Earthbound sees IG Culture team up members from the London artist collective Steam Down, Alex Phountzi of Selectors Assemble (Bugz In The Attic), and Rhythm Section’s Neue Grafik. The story revolves around the ancient people of Nibiru who return to earth, only to discover that the humans they had once passed down their knowledge are now living in a world of chaos. LCSM translates this esoteric journey by using intergalactic live jazz fusion. 

The resulting collage is a wonderful combination of live sax, percussion sessions, SP1200 beats, Sun-Ra flavours and inter outer synth sessions.

Essentially the message here is - don't get bothered by things that don't really matter! A taste of another pure vibes studio session from Dego and Kaidi on the excellent Eglo Label out of London.

Sometimes a record has an energy that hits hard, this is one. Powerful vocals from Georgia Ann Muldrow and an inspiring musical interpretation and arrangement from Kaidi Tatham join forces here to create an absolute bomb. West London meets LA in true style.

Ivan 'Mamão' Conti - Poison Fruit

Brazilian drumming legend Ivan ‘Mamão’ Conti has been experimenting and innovating for the last half a century. As one third of cult Rio jazz-funk trio Azymuth, Mamão was at the root of the group’s ‘samba doido’ (crazy samba) philosophy, which warped the traditional samba compass with jazz influences and space age electronics. Even with his lesser known jovem guarda group The Youngsters, Mamão was experimenting with tapes and delays to create unique, ahead-of-its-time sounds, way back in the sixties. More recently Mamão recorded an album with hip-hop royalty Madlib under the shared moniker ‘Jackson Conti’.

2000 Black delivers yet again and again with several EP's. 4hero’s Dego has been constantly moving since the early nineties, enriching the drum & bass, soul and London boogie scene in his own unique way. 2000 Black was established in 1998 by Dego, named after a 1975 Roy Ayers’ recording, with multi-instrumentalist Kaidi Tatham and musical director Akwasi being key members since the very beginning.

Take a listen to "Green Woods" on this EP from Matt Lord and Dego, featuring Mr Mensah on bass. An infectious summer groove to warm up the dance.
